The purpose behind writing this book is to bring awareness about the importance of good health and a long life. Many people are “living to eat and not eating to live,” as the saying goes. We are falling prey to our senses, forgetting about what our stomach and body needs. We are no longer eating healthy food and leading prosperous lives. The younger generation, especially, are hooked to junk food for its taste and are suffering from overweight and obesity, which are responsible for many health problems, hospitalization, and associated suffering.
In Live Longer and Healthier, a number of aspects related to good health are discussed in a simple language and easily understandable way. Our bodies are the best healers and it is the best-kept secret. The importance of lifestyle changes for good health are also discussed. The author wishes that everyone should live a full healthy life and enjoy the pleasures of old age like Luigi Cornaro. It is better late than never.
The author is a seventy-three-year-old retired professor. He worked in Hindu College, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, for thirty-three years and retired as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Zoology. He recently published a book titled 100 Great Minds Who Shaped Our Lives. He also wrote a number of books on the subject of zoology.
